Hi, I am an alumni of 2019 batch from jagannath university, this period of 4 years was not just a college degree for me but one of the incredible experiences that I ever had in my life, along with quality education here I got all round personality development and sweetest unforgettable memories, and before coming to the University, I was so sacred with few of my own thoughts such as ragging, environment at campus and homesickness but when I came in the university hostel I found that there is no such scenario of ragging here, as University have got their anti ragging cell and it really works well and I always felt like home in the campus as the nature of hostel wardens and all the faculty was very friendly and nice, I met different students from different states in the university campus and made a lot of friends too, and for those 4 years we studied, played, laughed cried together, campus offered a variety of activities to do there, such as for sport lovers, nearly all kind of indoor and outdoor games are available such as basketball ball, table tennis etc. And for those people who are interested in art or have some talents, so University have got a number of opportunities for them also, such as, cultural department for singing, dancing etc. and precisely in my words I would say that here I got three "F" experience Future, Friends and Fun.

Spur Dikes Design for prevent the erosion of riverbanks

Spur dikes (or groynes) are structures constructed projecting from a bank to protect the bank from erosion. These are widely used for the purpose of river training and serve one or more of the following functions :

• Training the river along a desired course by attracting, deflecting (or repelling) and holding the flow in a channel. An attracting spur creates deep scour near the bank; a deflecting spur shifts deep scour away from the bank, and a holding spur maintains deep scour at the head of the spur.
• Creating a zone of slack flow with the object of silting up the spur.
• Protecting the river bank by keeping the flow away from it.

These structures may either be impermeable or permeable so as to allow some flow parallel to the bank but at a low enough velocity to prevent erosion and / or encourage sediment deposition. Care needs to be exercised in the use of spurs to ensure that they do not simply transfer erosion from one location to another, or initiate unforeseen changes in the general channel morphology.

Spurs Requirements

The requirements of a spur are:

• Optimum alignment and angle consistent with the objective.
• Availability of a high river bank to anchor (or tie) the spur back, by extending it into the bank a sufficient distance to avoid it being outflanked.
• Sufficient freeboard provision (in case of non-submerged spurs).
• Adequate protection to nose/head against anticipated scour.
• Shank protection with stone pitching and stone apron for the length which is vulnerable to flow attack

SAVE WATER AND SAVE LIFE Water covers 70% of earth's surface but in that only 3% of water is clean and suitable for human consumption. Water has a very important role to play in our daily life. According to a survey, the average family of four members, uses 450 litre of water per day, 1,64,000 litres of water per year. If it is continued in future we are going to face water wars. To avoid this we have to save water for the coming generations.

Some Important Tips to Save Water at Home :

• Turn off the tap when you brush your teeth which can save 6 litres of water per minute.
• Place a cistern displacement device in your toilet cistern to reduce the volume of water used in each flush.
• Take a shorter shower. Shower can use any thing between 6 and 45 litres per minute.
• Fix a dripping tap. A dripping tap can save15 litres of water a day or 5500 litres of water a year.
• Install a water butt to your drain pipe and use the water collected to water your plants, wash your windows or cars.
• Water your garden with a watering can rather than a hose pipe. A hose pipe uses 1,000 litres of water an hour. Watering the plants in the early morning and late afternoon will reduce evaporation and also save water.
• Repair dripping faucets by replacing washers. If your faucet is dripping at the rate of one drop per second, you can expect to waste 2,700 gallons per year which will add to the cost of water and sewer.
• Invest in water-efficient goods when you need to replace house hold products. You can now buy water – efficient shower heads, taps, toilets, washing machines, dish washers and many other water saving products.
• Verify that your home is leak-free, because many homes have hidden water leaks. Read your meter before and after a two-hour period when no water is being used. If the meter does not read exactly the same, there is a leak.
• When adjusting water temperature, instead of turning water flow up, try turn it down. If the water is too hot or cold, turn the offender down rather that increasing water flow to balance the temperatures.

Digital Movement in India and Need of Cyber Security With the era of Digital India Movement, a cashless future looks worthy attractive. Digital India is a programme to transform India into a digitally empowered society and knowledge economy. The focus is on being transformative to realize the better India Tomorrow (IT) by using Information Technology (IT). BUT putting the digitalization without building the required infrastructure is like assembling the cart before the horse. Cyber security leaves us vulnerable to Cyber Attacks due to lack of proper precautions and security policies. After digital movement, Security has become a heavy concern for the security experts and authorities like never before. Cyber Security is defined as a protection of network physically and digitally.

Cyber Security is process and practices designed to protect the data exchange over the internet. Ensuring it includes: Application Security, Information Security, Network Security, Disaster Recovery/ Risk Management, Operational Security and Educating End Users. The biggest challenge in achieving this, is the quickly changing nature of risks and threats. In India, a huge population is still residing in rural areas and they lack in cyber literacy and awareness, even people residing in urban areas are also not much literate about it. We are dealing with hackers and malwares over the internet and as transactions will increase threat will also increase especially when the money transactions are involved. Cyber criminals take the advantage of new technology to design attacks and threats to the Indian financial market. Security trained task force, Cyber law, Campaign of creating awareness among the End-Users and Robust Infrastructure needs to be planned crucially while evolving more in this direction. 2020 showed us how unpredictable life could get. I appreciate team Jagannath University for taking the initiative to hold a e-alumni meet and bring us together though a virtual platform to share our thoughts. At outset I submit my condolence to the family and friends who lost their loved ones untimely. The pandemic hard hit the education sector as well. However,it also provided chance to bring the much-needed reforms in education policy and practiceso asto aspire to become a Vishwa Guru again. It is important for students who had the privilege to utilize the resources of the society, to not let their degrees remain just a 'qualification' but use this very powerful tool to give back to the society again.

Since learning knows no boundaries. Need of the hour is that we as a professional use the acquired knowledge, skills and aptitude to bring more equality, justice, harmony and prosperity to this nation and contribute in building Aatmanirbhar-Bharat. Success is assured when passion meets discipline. Though, not every endeavors brings the desired results but what it will surely bring is a lesson. Institutions and degrees must not remain as mere artifacts in the new paradigm and there has to be a utility in what we are delivering for one thing has been made very clear in the last year that not all tests are from the syllabus we have been mugging up since years and surely there can be no substitute to new ideas, innovations and evolution.

Finding the right path to success at the right time is really very important and for that I would like to express my heartiest thanks to the JNU family. The friendly environment, the systematic approach towards imparting education, made me a competent individual. The faculties are really very kind and approachable when any need arises. Because of their true support and guidance, I cleared my UGC NET 2019. It was a great time spent in JNU with wonderful opportunity to learn and grow myself academically as well as in professional front.

I have so much to convey for the coming batches, Even when times are tough remember that JNU always has your back..from networks of alumni that will go extra mile for you, to professors that give you as much wisdom as they do knowledge, to the humanics philosophy that lives in your heart.

Pursuing MBA at Jagan Nath University is a top-notch option for any student seeking individual attention from a league of knowledgeable and experienced faculty, and a more personal MBAexperience than a larger program could offer.

In my two years, I gained tremendous knowledge of many facets of business. Course offerings were diverse and covered subject areas including accounting, business strategy, business analysis, human resources, MIS/software, and supply chain. The classes were challenging, promoted critical thinking, and gave me every chance to build a robust skill set applicable to many business career paths.

Professors taught me the critical skills of being precise and concise. I transformed from an individual who spoke and wrote a great deal but said very little to a job prospect and employee who communicates powerfully with fewer words. This skill is critical when communicating with C-level or VP-level executives, whether internally at my employer or when communicating with a current or potential client. I had adequate skills to impress an employer before completing my MBA, but this institution gave me a great deal of confidence and a refined set of skills that make me a proactive decision-maker and valued employee.

I utilize many of the skills I learned from in the MBA in my profession. I am well-respected by my colleagues and employer and I am considered an employee who adds value by director, VP-level, and C-level decision makers. I simply couldn't ask for more than what I gained from the MBA program over here, and I can't say enough about the ongoing support I still receive from my former professors when I reach out for advice or an opinion five years after graduating from the program.

The greatest benefit of the program was much more than the certificate that I received at the end. It was the confidence it gave me to pursue, win and accept my current position. Thanks to the Faculty of Management, Jagan Nath University, I know that I have all of the skills to be a successful and ethical professional.

I learnt from university in the whole degree programm I not only earned theoretical knowledge but also practical knowledge. There were hundreds of practical sessions during my B.Sc curriculum. The faculty was cooperative nature and mode of teaching was both English and Hindi language as per student requirements. Faculty members were very humble with students and stand besides at each and every moment of student during study. There are different types of inter college competition and annual functions which were very effective to brush our extra curriculum and provide a stage to persue the passion.

We visited various KVK and other agricultural institutions during semester.

There were different campaigns of NSS and other social gatherings. We played games after college and for entertainment purpose we went to outings on weekends these all aspects help me to interact with others and I learnt how to communicate socially.

I would like to take this opportunity to pen down what Jagannath University has given me. We as young timid sophomores found ourselves lost between the corridors and wooden desks of lecture halls .The cooperative efforts of assignments, RAWE , unfathomable knowledge of our professors transformed me into an individual which I am today. From football matches to the impeccable mischievous of the practical classes and dancing in Punjabi songs with full swag are memories etched in the back of my mind forever to lament and smile at the same time.

In the age of Instagram, FB and other social media, the long boring bus rides from college to home were more of indulging in imperialistic fantasies of how we want to take outside the world for-"Pandavas Gang ".We survived one night Jagannath fight. We are overwhelmed and afflicted at the same time with-" Sir/ Ma'am of seniority. From the last minute preparation to after college hangouts we survived it all As Kalam Sir quotes -"There is no such thing as past friends, because friends are forever". I truly believe in this, as memories of Jagannath University shall remain with me forever. It has helped me to transform into an individual, which I am today. The sheer support and constant motivation of faculty to manifest my affirmations into reality, has landed me where I am today. I am indebted to this institution for giving me so much to conquer the world outside full of opportunities.

College is a new beginning in the life of a student. After the much disciplined life of a school, we come college but for most of the students' going to a college is very terrifying and sometimes overwhelming. It's a case of fear of unknown. We interact with the new classmates, teachers, infrastructure and culture too. But if I would have to say about myself nothing happened from the above.

I joined Jagannath University in August 2016 and the feeling on the day one was like "Yes! That's where I wanted to be". Everything is very friendly. At Jagannath University I felt that "College is not about finding yourself, it is about finding a person within you that you want to be."

The faculty members, office staff and the supporting staff never made me realise that I was new to this college and the result of that cooperation was that I was able to complete my post- graduation with good academic record and secured a gold medal too.

That's about my first day of college life, Sweet, Happy and Satisfying. The classmates whom I befriended on the first day became my such good friends later. My two years in college passed very soon. Even now I miss those days like nothing else. But the days will be always with me in my memories and now when I am a teacher and I see all these new students starting their college life .I feel nostalgic and I cherish my college memories...!!!
